Raphael attended the 9th Annual International Wushu Championship in Hong Kong with the Beijing Xingyi team. They earned 5 gold medals, 2 silver, and one bronze.

Raphael Smith participated in the Beijing Xingyiquan Championships. About 120 people participated. He was choosen of a selected group of competitors to give a master's demostration.

Representing team USA in CangZhou's international wushu competition, Raphael took second place in the Chen style taijiquan section. The competition was a tremendous turn out: 44 countries, and over 700 competitors. Jackie Chan, Wu Bin, and other famous Chinese celebrities all turned up for the event.

French Musician, 'Frederick', sought Raphael out to help him in his chances for performing on CCTV(National Chinese tv). His idea was 'Gong fu ji ta' or 'kung fu guitar'. They spent two weeks together combining his guitar maneuvers with kung fu. The results were him being picked amongst the thousands competing.

4/2/2010 Raphael gave an introduction to traditional Chinese wushu to Chinese/Korean kindergarten kids and it was just amazing. The energy of 4-7 year olds is unsurpassed; they laughed, trained, laughed some more, and then got down right silly.

The workshop was held at Future Harvard International Kindergarten in Dalian, China.
